Learning Objectives:

  • Understand different types of SHW systems – Thermosyphon, Drainback, Forced Circulation
  • Know SHW Components: closed loop, active systems, tanks, collectors, racking
  • Size a SHW system of DHW – Basic terminology – Collector array sizing
  • Have hands-on experience in collector installation, piping, HPAK and tank installation
  • Complete system commissioning

Based upon training satisfaction survey results, 80% of participants in Photovoltaic (PV) class and 93% of the Solar Hot Water (SHW) participants rated their confidence level after training as very good to excellent. This compared to a confidence level ratings of 60% and 63% respectively before training. These results clearly demonstrates the combination of providing comprehensive theory of operation with real world hands-on training was well received.
